New Netgear WNDRMAC Vs Apple Time Capsule

Apple is proud with its networking product the Apple Airport Extreme base station which is very popular and receives very positive responses from the users with averagely 4.4 out of five stars customer ratings. Apple also introduces new full-featured Airport Extreme – the Apple Time Capsule. The main feature of this new full-features of Apple Extreme is that it supports the Mac Time Machine system that allows you to create an automatic backup strategy eliminating the always forget back-up task for Mac users.

Netgear would like to attract Mac users by introduces new WNDRMAC wireless N600 router which is designed to be truly Mac compatible as well as Windows. If you examine the manufacturer's description thoroughly, this new N600 router is designed to compete with Apple Time Capsule. Are there any feature differences with Apple Time Capsule?

Time Machine Support

Your data is a valuable asset that must be protected like other assets. Imagine that your valuable unforgettable wedding memory images stored in your computer hard disk are lost due to hard disk crashed and no backup is available. How can you restore them? Even though technology is currently available to restore all the files of the crashed hard disk back but you need to have the expert done it for you and guess what, you have to spend lots of money to have them restored. Time machine in Mac system comes to help you manage the backup strategy automatically.

Both Apple Time Capsule and Netgear WNDRMAC support Time Machine. With the attached storage on the router, all the Mac and PC computers on the network can start a full backup for the first time to the attached storage (that will take hours depends on how big your data is) and later on the Time machine system will manage the backup for you all the time. Forget about the daily, weekly or monthly backup strategy, time machine will update the backup only to the data that is changed or created.

Shared Printer Support

Both WNDRMAC and Time capsule support shared printer attached to the USB port using bonjour printing. Mac with Bonjour printing can recognize the attached printer you can add to your "system preference". For Windows users, they can use the bonjour printing application by downloading the bonjour application for Windows which is compatible with Mac. Any Windows XP SP2, Vista and Windows 7 can be supported.

Gigabit Ports

One of unimportant differences between the two routers is the number of gigabit Ethernet ports. WNDRMAC includes five Gigabit ports (4xLAN and 1xWAN) while Time Capsule includes four Gigabit ports (3xLAN and 1xWAN).

Built-in Media Server

Both WNDRMAC and Time Capsule include built-in media server. But WNDRMAC is DLNA certified, meaning you can stream HD video and other media files seamlessly on any types of DLNA compliant devices such as XBOX360, PS2 / 3, Blu-Ray player etc.

What I find the main difference between the two is that the WNDRMAC can be configured as the repeater with WDS (Wireless Distribution Support) support but Time Capsule cannot. The WNDRMAC is a premium router, why should you purchase two premium routers and use one of them as the wireless repeater? I think you just waste it. Should you require a repeater function; You can install a true repeater device such as DAP-1360 which the price is less than half as much as the WNDRMAC router. Now, which one is the best to meet your need? You'll be the judge.

Apple iWork Pages – Funeral Program Templates

Apple iWork Pages® is a terrific software that can be used to create a funeral service program for a loved one. In a challenging and emotional time, it is especially useful, with its ease of use and user-friendly functions.

Although Apple iWork Pages® can open and modify Microsoft Word documents, templates created in Pages® is the cleanest and most effective way to edit a template.

Apple Pages® can open and change Microsoft Word files, though this may present annoying issues; therefore, templates developed in Pages® is the cleanest and most secure approach to go. Templates that are actually produced in Pages®, does not go through a conversion process (from Microsoft Word to Pages conversion), you will get a pure page devoid of errors.

You also have the capability to take advantage of its easy and user-friendly settings. Note that the comparable for Microsoft Word in MAC OSX is Pages®. However, the comparability is not really the equivalent. But, the comparison between the two is hardly the same. Yet another reason we would suggest editing in Pages is that Microsoft Word does not have some of the valuable features that Pages exhibits.

A selection of pre-installed templates is readily accessible within Pages® itself. You can utilize one of these pre-created templates to begin creating a funeral program, if you like. It will take you some time in order to assemble the graphical pictures and backgrounds you would like to utilize in your own funeral programs. Try to remember that assembling the graphical pictures and backgrounds might need some additional time. it is extremely simple to produce text and shape boxes. Placing photos is also an easy process.

Your program can quickly be finished in a brief time mainly because of the ease of use with available functions within this program. You could be astounded as how much simpler it is to design a document.

The Apple Success Story

Apple has to be one of the greatest success stories of all time. The beginnings of Apple started with Wozniak assembling a simple built computer machine. It was in the summer of 1971 Wozniak 21 and Jobs 16 were introduced to each other by a mutual friend Bill Fernandez. Wozniak had shown Jobs his simple built computer machine and this impressed Jobs to the point Jobs believed he could sell it for a profit. It was here they would form a strong friendship because they not only shared a passion for computers, but because they were both known as outcasts and for the first time they had a great understanding, admiration and respect for each others abilities, personality and intellect. They would begin the Apple project by selling some of their possessions: Wozniak’s HP scientific calculator and Jobs’ Volkswagen, they raised $1300 and assembled their first prototypes in Jobs bedroom. When the project became too big for the bedroom they moved the project into Jobs family’s garage, it was on a huge wooden work bench that served as their first manufacturing base. The computers were hand built by Wozniak and first shown to the public at the Homebrew Computer club. After selling a number of the machines Apple was established on April 1, 1976 and went public on December 12, 1980.

So the question is how has Apple been able to maintain its great success? Apple has maintained its great success with its ability to understand what the consumer wants before the consumer even knows what they want; Apple effectively creates wants by their constant creative innovation and unique design which is stylish, user friendly and affordable. They have also been able to create a brand in the high technology world just as Chanel has in the fashion world. People can easily recognize an apple whether it’s the I-Pod, the I-Phone, the Mac Air or the I-Pad. It has become a product that defines one’s identity in how they desire to be seen by society that is a person who is highly innovative, intelligent, stylish and apart of the in crowd. This is pure marketing genius.

This marketing genius of Apple has seen this company out perform beyond the business world’s expectations. While so many companies are struggling to break even in the current recession Apple is getting stronger by the day. The last three years has seen Apple’s profits soar, take a look at these figures:

A profit of 8.2 Billion in 2007 followed by a profit of 11.2 Billion in 2008 and most recently a profit of 17.2 Billion in 2009. That is more than a 100% growth in profit from 2007 to 2009- Incredible!

With these profits and Apple’s constant innovation, what will they think of next? My bet is another great innovated product that we never thought we would want or need, but will end up on our wish list.

If you have a great idea, product or service but need to create a Wozniak and Jobs connection to make it a reality, you need to join http://www.cluehut.com where people are waiting to hear from you where together you can make each others dreams a reality.

What to Consider Before Planting an Apple Tree

There is plenty of appeal to planting an apple tree in your yard. Not only are they bountiful providers of fresh, delicious produce, they are aesthetically pleasing trees that add charm to any landscaping. However, it is important to do your research and learn exactly what it takes to raise and care for one. Fruit trees are delicate and more susceptible to disease and pest infestations. For these reasons, they require a separate set of tree care regimens to promote the best yields possible. Continue reading to learn which aspects of apple tree planting you need to consider.

Time of Year

The timing and climate for planting an apple tree must be right if you want your tree to produce good yields. The proper time to plant an apple tree depends on the region you live, but also the species of the apple tree. In most regions, spring is the best time to plant anything. This is when temperatures and weather conditions are milder. It is also the rainy season, which is what helps stimulate spring growth. In regions where temperatures remain mild year-round, fall can also be a successful time to plant one. Consult your town's extension office to see which apple varieties are best for your area.

Pollination

When you want to plant your tree, you must consider pollination cycles. They require cross pollination, which requires planting two different species of apple tree that bloom at the same time. There are other equally effective methods of cross pollination as well. For instance, you can be successful at cross-pollination if you have a close neighbor with a crab apple tree or other apple tree that also blooms at the same time. In fact, you can just borrow a branch, stick it in a bucket of water, and place it under your tree during its blooming season.

Location and Soil

Not only does the location matter, the soil properties do as well. An apple tree requires a generous amount of sunlight, at least 6 hours each day, as well as, soil that is well-drained and has the proper pH levels. Soil that is too acidic or to base, can be improper conditions for all tree species. You can buy a soil testing kit to test your soil's pH level, but you must also consider compaction and drainage. This is why it is important to use an organic mulch at the base of your tree.

Routine Care

Ongoing maintenance is important. Without routine tree care, especially in the immediate years following planting, an apple tree can quickly go into decline. They are also highly susceptible to pests and nuisance wildlife interference since apples are sweet, juicy, and delicious. In its early years, it will require insecticide application every two weeks during its blooming stage. This will deter fungus and insects. On top of pest and disease control, you will also need to properly prune branches and thin out canopies at the right times per year. Talk to a local tree care provider for these services.

A Short History of Apple

Since its humble beginnings as a computer company flogging hand built machines conceived by an out of work college dropout, the Apple empire has certainly come far. Today, Apple Inc has almost 50,000 employees and reported a $14 billion profit in 2010, becoming one of the most valuable computer technology companies in the world. Moreover, it has become a unique brand phenomenon with Apple products being snatched up all across the world – and consumers are still clamouring for more.

From the first Apple I to the iPhone 4 – here’s a look back at some of big Apple wins and a few of its failures through the years.

1976 – Apple was first founded on 1 April 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Wayne subsequently sold his share of the company back to his partners for $800. The first offering by the company was a hand built Apple I personal computer retailing for $666.66.

1977 – The Apple II was introduced. Boasting colour graphics, open architecture and a floppy disk drive interface, the Apple II was positioned well ahead of its competitors and subsequently became the personal computer of choice for the business world with the VisiCalc spreadsheet program.

1983 – The Apple Lisa was launched, the first to feature a Graphical User Interface (GUI).

1984 – Apple launches the Macintosh with its powerful TV commercial directed by Ridley Scott. The Mac was a success thanks to its advanced graphical capabilities – perfect for desktop publishing.

1985 – Co-founder Steve Jobs resigns from Apple and goes on to develop a new computer company, NeXT Inc.

1989 – 1991 – Macs go portable with the Macintosh Portable and the PowerBook, which set the ground for the layout and ergonomic design for most future laptops and personal computers.

1986 – 1993 – During this time, Apple produces a few product flops including a digital camera, portable CD players and video consoles. The Newton was Apple’s foray into portable handheld computing devices but also had limited success.

1996 – Apple purchases NeXT, bringing Steve Jobs back into Apple as an advisor. He eventually became the interim CEO until 2000 when he officially stepped into the role permanently.

1998 – The iMac, with its advanced digital video editing capabilities, would become the launching pad for Apple’s return to being a computer industry leader.

2001 – Apple introduces the first generation iPod which would revolutionise the digital music industry and become hugely successful with almost 300 million iPod units in its various forms and generations sold since its debut.

2003 – To follow up on the iPod’s success, Apple launches its iTunes store.

2005 – Apple releases its popular line of Intel powered computers with the introduction of the popular MacBook, MacBook Pro and iMac. These would eventually come to replace its previous models of the PowerBook, iBook and Power Mac. Today, the Intel powered models have been updated and re-released and continue to be some of the most popular computer models sold today.

2007 – The first Apple iPhone is launched revolutionising smart phone technology and mobile computing. The App Store allowed third party developers to make and distribute iPhone compatible applications, including some of the most popular games today, like Words with Friends and Angry Birds.

2010 – Continuing to blaze new paths, Apple introduces the iPad tablet computer that worked with all iPhone applications. The iPad has already sold almost 15 million units in its first year and consumers are already looking to buy or rent an iPad 2.

Today, Apple fans are waiting for more updates on their favourite products with the iPhone 5 and the iPad 2 expected to debut in 2011.

Apple Cider Vinegar – A Natural Arthritis Tonic

Using apple cider vinegar for arthritis is something that has been done for centuries. There are many reasons for this that you should be aware of. Apple cider vinegar actually has many medicinal benefits and relieving arthritis pain is one of them.

One thing to know about arthritis is that it can be characterized by the formation of crystallized uric acid around the joints. The use of apple cider vinegar is recommended to break down these crystals. This is done by the malic acid that is one of the active compounds of this type of vinegar. The acid will break down the crystals so they can pass out of the body. It should be noted that this does not prevent them from forming.

Inflammation is something that people with arthritis also suffer from. This type of vinegar can help with this as well because it is a natural antioxidant. The antioxidant properties will reduce the inflammation around the joints. Additionally it is thought that this reduction will help to slow the progress of the condition. Pain relief is also something that this vinegar can help with. The malic and acetic acids in the vinegar also help the body fight infections.

How To Use Apple Cider Vinegar to Fight Arthritis Pain

There are two common ways in which people can administer apple cider vinegar for arthritis. One is through a compress. To do this, you will heat a solution of one part apple cider vinegar to six parts water. When the mixture is hot to the touch then take it off the heat and soak a cloth in it. Ring out the excess and put it onto aching joints.

Another way to administer this vinegar is as a tonic. Many people take a tablespoon two times a day. It is possible to take this vinegar straight if you do not mind the taste. You could also mix a tablespoon full into a glass of water and have it that way or you can make a tea with a teaspoon of natural honey.

You can’t go wrong trying apple cider vinegar for arthritis. The cost of this natural remedy is minimal and the benefits are too numerous to mention. Also buy the brand that has organic raw unfiltered apples to get the best results.

Apple iPhone 6S Review

A few months ago Apple released the iPhone 6S and if you're not familiar with the Apple practice you may be confused about this new iPhone as it looks identical to the iPhone 6 but fear not they are not the same. On the inside at least.

There is better hardware, improved camera, stronger case, the new 3D Touch and (at last) 2GB of RAM. Over the years the 'S' always brought something new to the plate, the iPhone 4S added Siri and the iPhone 5S had the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

The main addition to the iPhone 6s is definitely the new pressure-sensitive touchscreen technology named the 3D Touch that although right now is quite awesome and will definitely become more interesting when more apps are released for it.

Overall, what Apple has to do is to convince people that the S variant of iPhone 6 is worth the upgrade, even if there are a lot of other smartphones to choose from and unfortunately the iPhone 6S doesn't seem like a game changer, it only has some subtle upgrades that do have a lot of potential with future updates or installments.

Design

At first glance, the iPhone 6S seems identical to the iPhone 6, it has the same rounded corners and edges, but there are some subtle design changes.

The front of the phone is now stronger, the glass being less likely to shatter if the phone is dropped and lastly, the iPhone 6S is now made of the 7000 series aluminum.

As said before, these changes are subtle and will most likely go unnoticed by most. The volume buttons, the silencer switch and the power key are in the same place as last year and this isn't a bad thing because the phone is easy to operate with one hand and the buttons are exactly where they should be.

As a side note, the iPhone 6S is compatible with iPhone 6 cases.

Design

The iPhone 6S seems to have the same display as the iPhone 6, featuring a 4.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1334x750p, 16 million colors and a pixel density of 326ppi.

Although there are far cheaper phones that offer 1080p resolution or even 4K display (which is a serious overkill!), The iPhone 6S still offers a great display experience, being crisp and clear, with deep blacks, bright whites and very accurate colors.

While the resolution stays the same there is one major addition from the last year flagship. You are now presented with the 3D Touch which offers a completely new way to interact with the iPhone.

This opens up whole new possibilities. If right now you can only open pop-up windows, trigger quick actions or expand, preview links and messages and there is a lot that can be done in the future.

Performance

The iPhone 6S features better hardware than the iPhone 6, with an Apple A9 Chipset, 1.84GHz dual-core Typhoon CPU, six-core PowerVR GT7600 GPU, 2GB RAM and, still, no card slot.

This translates into smoother multitasking, better handling of graphically-demanding tasks (like playing games), there was no stuttering, no dropped frames and the phone never lagged while we used it.

But there are some shortcomings. Apple decided to keep 16GB as base memory for iPhone 6S and because there isn't a microSD slot, filling up those 16GB will happen in no time.

Software

The iOS has always been the backbone of the iPhones and the new installment, the iOS 9 offers the same stability and user-friendliness we were accustomed to and thanks to its subtle tweaks over the years and the new added 3D touch, the iOS 9 is the best iPhone software to date.

As always, the iOS is quick and responsive, the App Store is still vibrant (and of higher quality than Google Play Store) and the apps have suffered some transformations and upgrades.

The Apple Maps, now, has transit directions, there is a News app, that is quite basic, pulling topics from different sources in a magazine-style interface. Notifications are now filtered by time, not by app and thanks to the M9 coprocessor, Siri is always on standby you can now you can wake it by yelling Hey Siri instead of pressing a button. Siri, also, can respond to a lot more commands.

The 3D Touch is its main feature and although in its infancy, is implemented the best with Apple's Mail. You can preview messages, archive them or mark them as unread.

Battery Life

The iPhone 6S features a non-removable 1715 mAh battery. Yes, you heard that right, the battery is actually smaller, a downgrade from the iPhone 6's 1810mAh.

There have been complaints about the battery from the iPhone 6 and yeah, Apple didn't quite addressed this issue. Anyway, the battery life averaged at 15 to 16 hours a day and there are a lot of people who need to recharge their iPhone 6S during the mid-afternoon.

It's not like it isn't understandable, the reason being the implementation of 3D Touch. The battery did not have enough space and they wanted to keep the same design as iPhone 6. Still, there are lots of smartphones that feature 4000mAh and battery life is usually a deciding factor for buyers.

Conclusion

Is iPhone 6S a great phone? Yes, it is. It does have its unique features and they promise a great deal in future updates. Is it worth upgrading over iPhone 5S? The users of iPhone 5S are the main target, the iPhone 6S being leagues ahead from all points of view (better camera, larger screen, better display, higher performance, a lot more stable).

But can Apple convince iPhone 6 users to upgrade to 6S? Maybe. Right now, the iPhone 6S doesn't offer something revolutionary and it is pretty close to the iPhone 6, but it may be worth getting a taste of these early installments (like 3D Touch) ahead of everyone, before it gets widespread. And if you want to switch from Android or Windows or you're just curious how iOS works, then the iPhone 6S is the best choice.
